The panel tasting with David Ramey and Tom Rochioli, winemakers of the famed Ramey and Rochioli wineries, will be moderated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, followed by a wine-paired dinner with the next generation winery hosts of each winemaking family: Claire and Alan Ramey, Rachael and Ryan Rochioli.

Over the years, David Ramey has helped pioneer traditional, artisan winemaking techniques in California during a period when making wine by the University book was the norm. Hailed as “Professor Chardonnay” by Wine Spectator, David’s efforts have helped shape the way many wines in the United States, and even in France, are made today. The Ramey family has long excelled at collaborating with other multigenerational winegrowers to make single vineyard wines as well as blends that showcase the defining characteristics of their sites.

Tom Rochioli is a third-generation grower and first generation winemaker with over 40 years’ experience, proudly building upon the significant contributions made by his father and grandfather. The success of the Russian River Valley could not be possible without the pioneering spirit of Joe Rochioli Jr., who was one of the first growers to plant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the region. Rochioli Vineyards and Winery has earned the reputation as one of Sonoma County’s finest vineyards and produces some of the most revered and rare Estate and single site designate wines.

Andrea Robinson is a world-renowned Master Sommelier who takes the seemingly daunting subject of wine and food and brings it down to earth for all to understand and enjoy. She is one of only 26 female Master Sommeliers in the world, with a strong culinary pedigree as a graduate and former Dean of the French Culinary Institute and the winner of three James Beard Awards.
