Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin open their doors every day in elementary and middle schools, affordable housing complexes, and even Juvenile Hall with a mission to enable all young people, especially those who need them the most, to become caring, productive, responsible citizens. They serve 10,000 youth each year at over 30 locations from Cloverdale to the Golden Gate Bridge. Five of these locations are in an under-served, low income neighborhood in Southwest Santa Rosa called Roseland.
Today there are 2,752 school aged children in the Roseland Neighborhood. Yet only 916 Roseland young people have access to the life changing services the Boys and Girls clubs provide. This means, 67% of Roseland youth don’t have a place to learn, grow, and thrive when school closes. With your help, we can change the future for these kids, their families and, as a result, the whole community.
This year as part of our Fund the Future initiative, please raise your paddle to contribute to the construction of a new Boys & Girls Club! Roseland children will benefit at this additional location that will offer academic enrichment programs like their Power Hour, a homework completion program. These programs were proven successful last year as 99.8% of members progressed to the next grade. Construction plans include a state-of-the-art STEM & Technology lab to inspire future career plans, a fully functioning community center for families to access key services, learning opportunities and gathering spaces. This new club will instantly make a monumental impact on the community. You have the power to make a difference!
