Celebrate the Wetzel Family Estate and the legacy of the land that Cyrus Alexander called “the brightest and best spot in the world.” Enjoy a two-night stay for four guests at Alexander Valley Vineyards. During your stay, you’ll be treated to a CYRUS red wine blending session hosted by Winemaker Kevin Hall; a vineyard tour in a covered jitney with wine tasting on the hillside overlooking the Alexander Valley; a private dinner on the historic adobe patio with the Wetzel family, featuring a selection of library wines; and a winery tour with a barrel tasting in the cave.
In the mid-1800s, Cyrus Alexander explored Northern California and was paid for his services with land. He settled, built his home, and raised his family – beginning a tradition of family farming that continues with the Wetzel Family. Today, the fourth generation of the Wetzel family is growing up amongst the vineyards and next door to the working winery that is known around the world as “AVV.” In 1995 AVV founder, Hank Wetzel, created a wine that was a tribute to Cyrus Alexander and the special place that the Wetzel Family calls home. Hank’s decision to produce a world class Cabernet Sauvignon blend has been a cause for celebration ever since. To remember your visit exploring his legacy, you’ll take home four magnums of CYRUS signed by the Wetzel family and Winemaker Kevin Hall.
Visit to be scheduled on mutually agreeable dates prior to December 31, 2024.
