In 2020, The Spirit of Benovia, owned by Joe Anderson and Mary Dewane, owners of Benovia Winery, will be in New Orleans to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Allied Victory in World War II after having participated in the 75th D-Day Anniversary in Normandy in June 2019. Upon arrival your first day you will check into a luxury hotel, and dine at Emeril’s New Orleans or Trenasse.

The second day you will be amazed by a curated tour and lunch at the World War II Museum with a docent, one of the best attractions in New Orleans. That evening, you will lavishly dine at Emeril’s New Orleans or Trenasse.

On your third day, you will board The Spirit of Benovia, a vintage DC-3/C-53 Skytrooper and enjoy a scenic flight from New Orleans to Monroe, Louisiana. In Monroe, you will have a guided tour and lunch at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. The museum is housed in one of the last remaining buildings used by the Selman Field Army-Air Corps Navigation School and is named after Major General Claire Lee Chennault, commander of the “Flying Tigers” fighter group, who had great success against Japanese forces in WWII. Under the command of Major General Claire Lee Chennault The Spirit of Benovia flew with the 14th Air Force and Civil Air Transport. The museum features exhibits about General Chennault and astronaut Jim Halsell, both Louisiana natives. You will then return to enjoy your last evening in New Orleans.
